Music of the '70s

I think that disco and punk reflect the decade extremely well. It reflects the heck out of it. Disco show how happy all the people were for their newly found freedom. All the civil rights movements had succeeded and everyone was ecstatic. However, the attention was not on Caucasian teenagers, breeding their own music, punk. This music reflects the feeling that these kids had about being totally ignored in all the festivities of the women or other racial communities. All they wanted was attention, in doing so they created a whole genre, defined by their affinity of actually losing money in making it and really only making a hobby out of it.

The '70s

In these photos I notice a general lawlessness, people jaywalking, graffiti, traffic violations, littering, etc. The people seem happy, yet rebellious. Although they have no worries and no one can stop them from doing whatever they want to do. But it looks to me like American is expanding, growing and evolving in to the great nation we are today. Swag America.
Pink panther sundance kid planet of the apes

The Pink Panther is a comedy from this time period. I found this movie actually very enjoyable, the humor was relatable and the overall plot was actually very good and reasonably easy to follow. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was a great example of a western classic, the action was plentiful and the villains were as villainous as you could expect. The protagonists death at the end was a twist on the happy ending that usually ensued the end of movies in this time period. Planet of the Apes was a decent movie, it was hard to follow and since we skipped so much of it, it was even harder. I did like it though, the new one made was kind of stupid in my opinion. The 1960s version was a bit.. Better. Overall, the popularity of these movies in this time period displays how sick and tired the citizens of American were of the same old happy endings all the time. They longed for something more, cliff hangers without resolutions, the death of the protagonists, etc. The people of our country longed for blood and no longer wanted to see the pitiful happiness they could not have in their own lives.

1960s television

The show my group chose, I believe, was modern family. I didn't particularly like it, I found it rather tasteless and the humor was alright, but not really my style. It was really political and in the episode we watched it talked of the president and several other such things. It was hard to find humor in though, as I dont really know the political standpoints and everything that was going on back then.

Music of the 1960s

The music of the 1960s was mainly based around anti-war movements. Although the rock scene was much more focused on drugs and what they can do to enhance your musical experience. It was psychedelic. To be totally honest I don't remember a whole lot about it, but I remember not liking that much. I definitely did not hate it, but I wasn't too fond of it per say.
